hEio Colin!
Why is it that AVG is making mg pc run slow?
Any idea?

bittersweetcollide - AVG should NOT slow down your computer.
Are you certain that it is AVG and how much CPU is it using?
It should use no more than 20 - 30% whilst scanning and in idle mode it shouldn’t use more than 1%.
If it is I would suggest downloading the latest version, uninstall current version and then install and update newly downloaded one
Hope this helps,
Colin

Joy - Thank you my dear friend
McAfee? Well to be honest, there are many free anti-virus, the most popular being AVG. Now, what people have to realise is that many free ones also offer paid versions which will include other tools such as anti-spyware, firewall etc.
The anti-virus program which is free is as good as any paid one, it has to be as they have to consider their reputation. So those that provide a free anti-virus use the same definitions and updates as the paid versions.
With the likes of McAfee, Norton and many others there are annual fees, with free versions there are no fees. Given that they do regular definition updates and have millions of satisfied customers, I’m inclined to stick with the free ones
There are also other tools to use alongside any anti-virus such as Threatfire, LinkScanner, Anti-Spyware and more.
It is also worth pointing out that you should not have more than one anti-virus running as it will lead to false positives, so it’s a good idea to use online free scanners regularly just as a back-up.
This is something I will write more detail on in a future post LOL
Have a great day,
Take care,
Colin
